We went to Washington for thanksgiving break .While we were visiting Joe's sister we took the girls to play at this indoor playground at the gym they have there. Joe also turned #28..and so we celebrated his birthday with presents and cake at both his sister's and at my parents. We ate alot of cake that week. What am I saying we ate alot of everything that week..it was Thanksgiving.

Here are some pictures of the girls i took today at the park. It was nice only about 87 degrees and the park had a water spraying area so the kids could get wet. Amber of course kept her feet dry while whitney ran through and under and over anything that would send water her way. It was a great little trip since we went with another family and had a picnic lunch inbetween playing.

Joe and our family traveled this last weekend to the first family reunion that his family has had in a long time. The kids had fun and got wet and it was nice to get together with the extended family. Here is amber and kade getting pushed around in their makeshift boats by uncle perry and aunt emily. Boy did they love that. IT did keep the bees and yellow jackets at bay.

Here is a picture of the girls that I found just sweet. They are really growing fast and play pretty well together. Whitney is wearing a sun suit..do you all remember those? Brings back memories whenever she puts one on.

I took the girls to the zoo here last week and they had alot of fun. There was a butterfly exhibit, a few landed on us which was wacky. One of the tigers was resting near the glass observation window so whitney got to get real close to it. Then we went to the rose gardens and the girls had alot of fun smelling all of the different varieties.

Dress project

My brother in law is getting married next week and i had looked everywhere for dresses for my girls. Finally i found some that I could makeover to match. I made the white accents myself and then tacked them on after removing the pink ribbons. I thought it turned out rather well and will keep the pink accents if i want to modify the dresses again in the future. Can't wait to see how they will look on the girls!!!

I've heard of cats not liking water.........

Here are the girls playing and/or screaming in the sprinklers a while back. It was about 74 degrees that day so we told whitney to throw on her suit and jump on out there. No trouble with her but the expressions on ambers' faces tell how she felt about it. Joe thought he'd calm her down by taking part as well.......it had the opposite effect.

Here are some pictures of my ballroom team that were taken before our performance on Saturday. I am on the right side second row up, second to the left on both. We did a good job and i felt great about my last performance on the team. The afternoon show was interesting in that my shoe came off during our standard number and i was able to slide my foot back into my shoe not too long after it had come off. Everyone backstage was hootn and hollerin about that. They said "we saw your shoe come off and next thing we know it was gone from the floor and back on your foot..sweet!!" So i guess i really impressed everyone with that..it will be fun to watch the performance when we get the dvd back. Hopefully both shows will be on it like last years. Thanks mom and dad for coming to see me, it's really nice to know you have fans in the audience. I will miss team but with luck i will get the chance to teach in the fall as an instructor. It will only be once a week so it will be more flexible and a bit more enjoyable.

Ballroom Competition

Okay so here are the results from my competition last weekend. I got 10th in gold american Cha cha, 11th in Gold Int. Cha cha. 12th in the Lindyhop and 13th in WestCoast swing. We made it to all of the semi-final rounds and had alot of fun just dancing without the stess of routines. I dance those with Arica's husband Jerry since she is on Maternity Leave. I also did well in the country swing..placing 7th. I do have to say that there are politics at this particular college comp..BIG TIME. Which is why my team was the only one to show up for it. Everyone else is sick of the unfair judging. So really how i was ranked doesn't really say anything to me. I would really like to know my fair rankings so i would know which dance to work on more and which one i can slack on a bit. As for my team matches, we did okay overall..I knew we weren't going to win because we are up against kids who have technique classes as often as our team meets just for practice. Still I was very unimpressed with their routines and performance quality. Arica was right when she said the ballroom program there is declining. What made me upset was they allowed their tour team, back up and a group of old/current (misfits)members to compete individually against both of my teams as a whole. Next time I think our B team will compete as a seperate unit too.. it would give alot more kids on my team the opportunity to dance solo style. Anyway i did have fun and was very glad that i didn't prepare anything before hand because i doubt it would have changed our placement at all. So there is my Competition Rent and Ravings-- I will try to post some pictures of the team and me and Jerry competing.

Yeah

So our appraisal came back better than we expected so we are very pleased about that. Tomorrow i am leaving for my dance competition so i've been doing laundry and packing. I didn't make it to the temple yesterday because i knew i'd be too tired to make it through the rest of the day with only 5 hrs of sleep. Hopefully i will get to go sometime soon with Joe..probably after everything dies down a bit. I am really excited about this weekend because I will get to visit with family from both sides of our family. It is still going to be exhausting so we'll see how much running around i will get to cram into this trip, especially with the girls. Mom will be coming with me so she can keep me sane and grounded and still bring laughter along. I will let everyone know how i do on my next post.

Easter

Here is a picture of the girls and Joe before Church Easter morning. Dont' you just love the look on Joe's face...amber was trying to get down. We had a picture of all of us in it but joe deleted it. He had a funny look on his face and amber was crying. The Easter bunny hid eggs around the living room and down the hallway from their room. The Bunny had a late night saturday due to children not being asleep. Amber and Whitney share a room now and Amber has learned to climb out of her crib. We had a busy weekend cleaning and tending the yard for the appraisal of our house. We want to refinance and so are hoping that it appraises for a good amount over what we paid for it. At least we will know where we stand before digging into all of the home improvements we have planned. Our stake has set a goal to fill every session for this month and i have signed up for the 5 am session tomorrow. Hopefully the girls are good and fall asleep quickly so mommy gets some rest before 3:30 comes around.

Welcome to my site

Hey this is going to be a whenever-i-feel like writing space for me. Feel free to leave comments when you wish. A little about myself..I am married to Joe- and have two beautiful girls, whitney and amber. I love to dance..and right now am on a ballroom team. I love to play other sports including softball, volleyball and basketball. We just bought a house 8 months ago and so will most likely be posting about it's changes. I have a wonderful family and am very excited about the month of May..my sister-in-law is moving back from Italy, my husband will graduate college, and my younger brother-in-law will be getting married. And i have two sisters who are having babies at the end of may too. Those are all of the announcements thus far. Here is a picture of Whitney (left) with her cousin. I thought they both have on the cutest grins.
